I’ve been using mechanical keyboards for about 4 years now. I love the feel, I love the sound, they are great.
I always used brown switches, and that’s what I had on my Keychron V1 keyboard. They get quite noisy when you type like I do. That started bothering me lately, so I started looking for some cheap silent switches. I read really good things about the Akko Penguin silent switches, so I decided to give them a shot.
I replaced all the switches except for the very top row. Pulling out the switches drove me nuts. I had to use force to pull some of them out. I broke my nail and pins on two switches. I hated every minute of it. But in the end, I’m very happy with the result. I love throwing my fingers viciously on the keyboard without making much noise. I should have done that a long time ago. I’m looking forward to typing stuff.
